Overview
Card programs can now create and update fraud reports directly from the Lithic Dashboard. This new interface provides access to the same fraud reporting capabilities previously available only through the API, enabling users to classify transactions based on their fraud status, specify fraud types, and add contextual comments.
Details
A new button now appears in the top right corner of the Transaction Details page. The button displays "Report as Fraudulent" when no fraud report exists for the transaction, or "Edit Fraud Report" when a report has already been filed through either the Dashboard or API.
Clicking the button allows the user to provide details about the fraud status, fraud type, and comments about the fraud.
Fraud Status Values
When reporting fraud, users can select from the following fraud status options:
SUSPECTED_FRAUD- The transaction is suspected to be fraudulent but not yet confirmedFRAUDULENT- The transaction is confirmed to be fraudulentNOT_FRAUDULENT- The transaction is explicitly marked as not fraudulent
Fraud Type Categories
Users can optionally classify suspected or confirmed fraud into these categories:
FIRST_PARTY_FRAUD- Legitimate account holder intentionally misuses financial services, including disputing valid transactions, abusing return policies, or defaulting on credit obligationsACCOUNT_TAKEOVER- Fraudster gains unauthorized account access, modifies settings, and conducts fraudulent transactionsCARD_COMPROMISED- Fraudster obtains card details through physical theft, cloning, or data breaches without account takeoverIDENTITY_THEFT- Fraudster uses stolen personal information to open accounts or conduct transactionsCARDHOLDER_MANIPULATION- Fraudster manipulates or coerces legitimate cardholders into unauthorized transactions through social engineering
Comments
Users can add optional comments to the comment field to provide additional context or details about why the transaction is being reported as fraudulent.
Fraud Report Display
Once a fraud report has been filed for a transaction, the fraud status and details now appear on the Transaction Details page. This display shows reports created through either the Dashboard interface or the API endpoint.

This change is additive only and will not impact existing integrations. API-based fraud reporting continues to function without modification.
