3DS Authentication Rules Now Available in Dashboard
Release date: July 14th, 2025
Impact: New Dashboard UI for managing 3DS authentication rules
Audience: All customers enrolled in Lithic 3DS
Action required: None. This is an additive feature only
Products affected: Lithic Dashboard

Overview

We're bringing 3DS Authentication Rules management to the Lithic Dashboard. You can now view, create, and manage rules that control 3DS authentication decisions directly through the Lithic Dashboard UI. This makes it easier for non-technical team members to respond quickly to fraud patterns and manage authentication logic without writing API calls.

Details

The Dashboard now includes a dedicated section for 3DS Authentication Rules. Within the "Rules" section of the left navigation menu, you'll find a new "3DS" tab. The interface provides the same capabilities as our API, allowing you to:

Create rules

  • Select rule scope (program-wide, account-level, or card-level)
  • Configure conditions for attributes, operations, and values
  • Combine multiple conditions with AND logic
  • Set rule actions to either DECLINE or CHALLENGE authentications

Manage existing rules:

  • View all active and inactive rules at a glance
  • Edit draft configurations in shadow mode
  • Activate or deactivate rules via point-and-click

Release Timeline

  • Dashboard availability: July 14th, 2025

User Impact

This change is additive only. Your existing 3DS authentication rules created via API remain unchanged and will appear in the Dashboard for management.
