Overview
Business account state now impacts authorization outcomes. Pausing or closing a business account now declines authorizations for all cards in its structure.
Details
To this point, a business account has served primarily as a grouping identifier, tying associated account holders and cards to a single business entity for organizational purposes. When used in this capacity as an organizational identifier, the state of the business account did not affect authorization decisions. A business account could be paused or closed while the associated cardholders could continue to transact, as long as the cards and individual accounts were active. With this change, the business account state now governs authorizations for associated cards in its structure.

Business account state can now be used to affect authorizations for the accounts and cards associated with it, without needing to directly change the state of the account or card.
