Release notes for July 5, 2023

On July 5, we will be releasing a fix for the amount field in the ASA request that will bring the field's behavior in line with our documented description of the field and with the current behavior of the parallel field in the transaction object.

Our documentation states that the amount field includes acquirer fees. In certain cases, acquirer fees were not being accurately reflected, and that will be fixed with the upcoming deploy. To incorporate acquirer fees in your ASA decisioning logic, we recommend using the acquirer_fee. For most use cases where a balance is being checked to ensure that the cardholder has sufficient balance to cover the total amount being requested by the merchant/acquirer, we continue to recommend using the authorization_amount field.
