  • Audience: All customers using account spend limits.
  • Action required: None. Existing configured limits will remain unchanged.
  • Products affected: Account spend limits.

Overview

We're improving our account spend limits functionality to provide greater flexibility in how you manage account transaction thresholds. Previously, account spend limits were enforced with a default value, even when no explicit limit was set by the customer. This was unintuitive, leading some cardholders to experience unexpected declines. With this update, account spend limits will become optional, allowing you to choose whether to enforce daily and monthly transaction limits on accounts, or not.

Details

Previously, account spend limits could not be disabled. If no limit was set, account spend limits would default to the daily spend limit of $1,250.00 and the monthly spend limit of $5,000 USD. If a value of 0 was set, we would enforce that limit. Account limits were not available for ASA customers.

After this change:

  • Account limits are now available for ASA customers.
  • A value of 0 for account spend limits will mean no limit is enforced, consistent with the current behavior of card limits
  • Customers will be able to modify the account limit for the Default Account
  • For non-ASA customers utilizing our default limits, we will maintain these limits to ensure continuity
  • All existing custom configured limits will remain unchanged

This change increases flexibility and harmonizes the behavior between card spend limits and account spend limits, providing a more intuitive and consistent experience across the Lithic platform.
